Our Tutors

Our tutors consist of over 30 teachers or post-secondary instructors.

Each of our tutors has experience and education in special education. They understand learning disabilities and how they impact learning. Creating dynamic lesson plans and they know how breakdown your child's homework to reduce stress. 

To ensure your child's success their programming is created and overseen by not just their assigned tutor, but one of the head tutors below and Carolyn Rankin personally.

Claire Gayman, Occupational Therapist

Master of Science in Occupational Therapy Dalhousie University,

Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology; minor in French        

Claire is an exceptional occupational therapist with experience in many key areas that impact our clients. Including her experience co faciliating a group designed to help children with sensory processing. She help develop a program called Face Your Fears to help children tackle anxiety.

Her work includes developing great study spaces in the home, improving handwriting, furthering computer skills, as well as doing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

David Dwarka Psychotherapist

Master's Degree in Clinical Counselling, Tyndale Seminar

 

David has worked with youth in a variety of settings. He has experience helping children work through and address their depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues through Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

David believes helping with a child's mental health can absolutely lead to further academic success.

 

Jennifer Kingdon, Senior Tutor

Jennifer has been educating for almost two decades and has extensive experience working with complex cases. Her students benefit from her professionalism, compassion and well prepared sessions. Jennifer has helped countless students do more and achieve more.

Helen Van Beilen, Head Elementary

Helen has 15 years of experience teaching children at the primary and junior level. She is an educational coordinator for Neighbour 2 Neighbour

Her goal is to help students learn, grow, and succeed as she tailors the individuals learning style to the children's needs. Helen loves to "unlock" the learning potential of each student as they are unique, whole and will develop a "I can" attitude to learning.

Angeline Brew, Head Elementary Literacy Tutor

Ijlal Syed, Head Math and Science Tutor

PhD Candidate McMaster University (immunology and vaccine development)

Ijlal has nine years of teaching experience both at the high school and post secondary level. His instructional style My instruction style is based on a problem based learning approach and he places a great focus on building a strong algebra and numeracy foundation.
